What is ClayCam?

Claycam is an interactive service allowing users to submit requests on the site and to see those requests molded into clay figures by clay makers in real-time via live streaming web camera.

What are the minimum requirements for ClayCam?

It is recommended that you have the following minimum requirements to access Claycam.

  • Internet Explorer 7/ Firefox Version 1/ Safari Version 1
  • 512Kb Broadband Connection
  • Flash 7 plug-in
  • For Mac users, you will need to download Windows Media Player 8 Plug-In
How do I use ClayCam?

Simple. Just go to the Claycam website and type in your nickname and idea request in the Send In Your Clay Request box. Click mould and your request will be queued. Try not to exit the website. Otherwise you could miss seeing your request being moulded.

Is ClayCam LIVE throughout the day?

No. Claycam is only LIVE from 10am until 8pm. After 8pm, Claycam will be suspended for the night. The clay makers have to go home too! Users however can view the current and previous days’ clay creations and rate their favourites in the gallery.

How can I rate the designs in the gallery?

Click on gallery to go in and view current creations. Mouse over the stars and click at the rating you want. You'll only be allowed to rate a design once, so make it count! The top 5 rated creations would be posted between 8am and 10am the next day.

Can I rate the designs anytime?

No. You can only rate them from 8.01pm until 7.59am.

Is the gallery available for viewing throughout the day?

Yes, the gallery is available for viewing throughout the day.

Why do I receive error messages?

Error messages appear when the following happens:

  • Your request is deemed inappropriate for the website
  • You attempt to log a request during Claycam’s offline hours (8.01pm-7.59am)
  • There is tremendous response to Claycam and we are forced to cap requests for that day
  • Heavy site traffic causes lag and increases the queuing time
  • Unforeseen technical difficulties emerge. In this situation, please remain patient, as we would be working hard to resolve the technical issues as swiftly as possible.
Are my requests being moderated?

Yes, your requests are being moderated. Please keep requests clean and appropriate otherwise they will be removed.
